Rooted in Faith: A Journey of Trust and Growth

Faith is a journey, not a destination. I’ve learned this firsthand through the highs and lows of life. For a long time, I thought being faithful meant having all the answers and never wavering in my trust. But as I walked through challenges and moments of doubt, I realized that faith is something we grow intentionally—one step at a time.

Rooted In Faith

Here are a few lessons and tips I’ve learned along the way to staying rooted in faith:

1. Embrace the Power of God’s Word

When life feels overwhelming, it’s easy to drift away from scripture, but that’s when we need it most. I started Bible journaling as a way to reconnect with God’s word in a personal and creative way.

  • Tip: Start small by picking one verse that resonates with you and reflect on it. Write it down, highlight key words, or even sketch something that reminds you of its message.

  • Example: One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 17:7-8—a reminder that trusting in God makes us like a tree planted by water, steady and nourished.

2. Build a Supportive Community

I’ve learned that faith flourishes in community. Surrounding yourself with people who share your love for Christ not only provides encouragement but also helps you stay accountable.

  • Tip: Join a Bible study group, connect with a church community, or even engage with online faith-based spaces.

  • My Experience: Some of the most profound lessons I’ve learned have come from listening to other women share their testimonies.

3. Let Go of Perfection

I used to think my faith needed to look “perfect”—that I had to pray the right way or always feel certain. But God doesn’t ask for perfection; He asks for surrender.

  • Tip: Give yourself grace. Faith grows through honest conversations with God, even when they’re messy or full of questions.

  • Reminder: It’s okay to admit when you’re struggling—God meets us in our weakness.

4. Stay Rooted Through Prayer

Prayer is the anchor of my faith, especially in seasons of uncertainty. Even when I don’t have the words, I’ve learned that simply sitting in God’s presence brings peace.

  • Tip: Start or end your day with just five minutes of prayer. It doesn’t need to be elaborate—just speak from your heart.

5. Trust God in the Process

Faith often grows in the waiting. Even when I couldn’t see how God was working in my life, I’ve looked back and realized His hand was guiding me all along.

  • Tip: Keep a journal of answered prayers and moments when you’ve seen God’s faithfulness—it’s a powerful reminder in tough times.

Being rooted in faith isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about taking intentional steps, trusting God in the process, and letting His love sustain you.

What steps are you taking today to deepen your roots in Christ? Remember, you’re not alone—we’re all growing together, one day at a time.

“Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught.” – Colossians 2:7
